Kokedama Installation

Project type

Collaboration with Dan Cox Art

Date

December 2025

Location

Dan Cox Art | Market Fair | Preston, Melbourne

Kokedama is a Japanese garden art form that dates back several hundred years, evolving from bonsai and kusamono traditions. Translating to “moss ball,” kokedama replaces traditional pots with a living sphere of soil wrapped in moss and bound with string, allowing plants to be displayed in a simple, sculptural way. Rooted in the philosophy of wabi-sabi, kokedama celebrates natural beauty, balance, and imperfection - turning plants into living artworks.

Our team absolutely loved creating these beautiful moss balls for Dan Cox Art, a calm, hands-on process that perfectly blends horticulture and creativity.
